Some things are a blatant perfect fit. Rigid Hull inflatable boats and a wide range of conditions are among them.

NAIAD inflatables and SOLAS — we’ve got history.

With decades of experience designing proven, trusted boats for commercial, recreational, and law-enforcement operations, New Zealand-based rigid hull inflatable boat designer NAIAD knows what it takes to create tough, dependable, and high-performance vessels that also look great. In 1990, after relocating from Christchurch, New Zealand to Alaska, our founder, Alan Shaw, familiar with the NAIAD brand, saw an opportunity and seized it. Long story short, Alan and his team are responsible for introducing NAIAD to North America. In the 90s, all NAIAD boats were crafted by NAIAD Inflatables USA Inc.

Our base of operations was in Homer, Alaska—a place we called home. Faced with a clear need for greater investment in engineering, we decided to forge a new path, and SOLAS was born. To this day, we service those early NAIAD boats, some of which are over 30 years old. Many remain with their original owners who, quite simply, will never part with them. Now that’s what we call seaworthy!

Take a look at a few of these early boats.

NAIAD loyalist or SOLAS enthusiast, it’s all the same to us. If RHIBs have you intrigued,  you’re in the right place.
